Privacy policy

Effective October 2, 2026. We collect only what we need to pick up, wash, and return your laundry, and we never sell it. Here is the whole picture.

What we collect

When you book: your name, mobile number, email address, pickup address and zip code, bag count, detergent choice, pickup day, notes you type (for example a gate code), and whether you asked for weekly service.
When you pay: Stripe or PayPal collects your payment details directly. We never see or store card numbers. We receive a confirmation, the amount, the last four digits of a card where the processor shares it, and the billing name.
When you buy a gift: your name and email, the recipient's name and email, and your message.
When you ask for a business quote: the business name, contact name, mobile, email, address, and the details you enter.
Automatically, by our own visit counter: the page you open, the site or campaign that sent you (for example a Facebook post or our hang tag), zip codes you check, your screen size, and the city your connection comes from. It runs on our own site (hosted by Cloudflare) and uses no cookies. It keeps a random id for your browser tab and a random id for your browser in your browser’s storage, so we can tell one visit from the next. Unique visitors are counted with a scrambled one-way code of your connection and browser that changes every day and cannot be turned back into your address. It cannot identify you or follow you to other sites.
Google Analytics, unless you opt out: Google Analytics 4 records the pages you view, how you arrived, your device type, an approximate location, and actions such as checking a zip code, starting checkout, asking for a quote or playing a video. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google Signals and ad personalization are off, and we turned off sharing this data with other Google products, so it is not joined to a Google account or used for advertising. If you opt out, or your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, it does not load. You can opt out at any time under Your privacy choices.
Meta Pixel, unless you opt out: we use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel for advertising measurement: to see whether our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to visits and bookings. A short notice tells you about it on your first visit, with a button to opt out. Unless you opt out, it tells Meta the pages you view and a few actions (checking a zip code inside our service area or asking for a business quote, starting checkout, and a completed order with its total and order number), along with Meta’s own cookie ids. We never give the pixel your name, email, phone or address. Unless you opted out, our server also sends Meta the zip-check or quote request and a completed order (Meta’s Conversions API), so they still count when a browser blocks the pixel: for an order with your email and mobile number scrambled by a one-way code (SHA-256), and for both your zip code scrambled the same way and your connection address and browser type, so Meta can match it to an ad click and count it once. If you opted out, nothing is sent to Meta, from your browser or from our server. Meta may use this information under its own policy, including for the ads you see: Meta Privacy Policy.
Ad campaign tags: if you arrive through a link with campaign tags (for example from one of our ads), our site remembers those tags in your browser for 30 days and keeps them with an order you place, so we can see which ads bring customers. The tags name the ad, not you.
Photos: a photo of your bags at pickup and at drop-off, taken at your door as proof of the handoff. We email it to you and keep it with your order.

Why we use it

To schedule, pick up, wash, and deliver your order, to text you when we are on the way, and to email you a photo at pickup and at drop-off.
To send order emails: confirmation, a reminder the day before, a note when your laundry is back, and, if you have not booked again, one reminder about two weeks later and one offer after about two months. Every reminder-type email has a link to stop them.
To verify first-order discounts and gift codes, and to prevent fraud.
To measure which of our ads lead to bookings (not for visitors who opted out).
To answer your questions and handle claims.
To meet legal and tax obligations.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of service providers, each bound to use your data only to provide their service to us: Stripe and PayPal (payments), Resend (sending our emails), Cloudflare (hosting, security, storage of order records and photos, and our cookieless visit counter), and Google (Google Drive for a backup copy of pickup and delivery photos, Google Voice for the texts we send you, and Google Analytics unless you opt out). Unless you opt out, Meta receives the ad measurement information described above. We do not sell personal information.

Other companies that may collect information on our pages

A few parts of our site come from other companies, and they may collect information about you across the websites you visit, under their own privacy policies: Stripe or PayPal when you pay; YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or TikTok when you tap play on one of our videos (their player loads only after you tap; before that you see a picture we host); Google, if you allow Google Analytics; Meta, if you allow the Meta Pixel; and the social networks you open through the links at the bottom of our pages.

How long we keep it

We keep order records, photos and bookings you started but did not pay for until you ask us to delete them, so we can help with a claim, a repeat order or a booking you come back to. Payment and tax records are kept for at least seven years for tax purposes. Booking drafts saved in your own browser expire after one hour. Our visit counter keeps its anonymous daily totals until we clear them. Google keeps Google Analytics data, and Meta keeps Meta Pixel data, under their own retention rules. You can ask us to delete your information at any time; we will, except what a law requires us to keep.

Cookies and similar storage

This site uses advertising cookies unless you opt out. What it uses:

Essential storage in your browser to remember a booking you started for one hour, so coming back from the payment page does not mean retyping the form. It never leaves your device.
Payment provider cookies. Stripe and PayPal set cookies on their own domains when the payment step loads, for fraud prevention and to complete your payment. Their policies: Stripe, PayPal.
Cloudflare may set a security cookie to protect the site from abuse.
Google Analytics, unless you opt out, sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an id that tells one visit from the next for up to two years. It holds a random id, not your name. Google's policy: how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Meta Pixel, unless you opt out, sets first-party cookies named _fbp (a random browser id, up to 90 days) and, when you arrive from a Facebook or Instagram link, _fbc (the ad click id, up to 90 days). Meta may also use its own cookies on facebook.com if you are logged in there.
Our visit counter keeps a random id for your browser tab, a random id for your browser, and a yes/no flag that you have visited before. None of them identifies you, and no advertising network sees them.
Your analytics and ad measurement choice is remembered in your browser’s storage, so we do not ask again. Opting out deletes the Google Analytics and Meta Pixel cookies.
Video players. YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or TikTok may set their own cookies once you tap play on one of their videos.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them may stop the payment step from working.

Your privacy choices

You can opt out of Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel (this is your California right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information) at any time with the Your privacy choices link at the bottom of every page, or with this button: Clearing this site’s data in your browser resets the choice, so opt out again if you clear it. Opting out stops the Meta Pixel and stops our server from sending your future visits and orders to Meta. Nothing else on this site tracks you for advertising.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out: Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel do not load and nothing is sent to Meta. Under California law this is also your request to opt out of sharing for advertising. Our own cookieless visit counter still counts the visit, because it does not follow you to other sites or build a profile of you.

Your rights (California and everyone else)

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Our business is below the size where the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, but we give these rights to every customer anyway. We do not sell personal information. We share it for advertising (the Meta Pixel described above) unless you opt out, which you can do at any time under Your privacy choices or with a Global Privacy Control signal. To make a request, email contact@laundrywashandfoldpickup.com from the address on your order, or include your order number. We respond within 45 days and we will not treat you differently for asking.

Text messages

We text only about your order. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts. Standard message and data rates may apply.

Children

This service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, order records are stored encrypted at rest with Cloudflare, and access is limited to what is needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever learn of a breach affecting your data, we will tell you.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a material change, we will post it here and, if you have an order or plan in progress, tell you by email.
